In a city that added more than 140 new buildings to a single square mile of Midtown over two decades, and just one acre of public greenspace along the way, the case for Midtown Green couldn't be more straightforward. The project reclaims a four-acre vacant parcel at 98 14th Street and transforms it into one of Atlanta's most ambitious civic destinations: a free, open, and deeply programmed public space steps from the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art, and the Fox Theatre.

Field Operations leads the landscape design, with Thomas Phifer and Partners contributing a central pavilion inspired by the magnolia blossom and the sculptural work of Alexander Calder. The pavilion anchors an outdoor amphitheater that seats up to 800. A restaurant, café, community building, and flexible gathering spaces complete a program designed to support a full day of activity. Art and experience strategist DVDL is also part of the team, ensuring that immersive programming is woven throughout the park.

Threshold contributed acoustics and AV research during the initial study, helping establish the acoustic foundation for an outdoor civic destination where sound and landscape work together.
