Heartland Whole Health Institute
The Heartland Whole Health Institute houses Alice Walton’s newly formed nonprofit that focuses on radical access to health and well-being. That access doesn’t stop at work, either. While not a medical facility, the Institute is a high-performance building that brings natural elements fully in its design for the benefit of all who work and visit.
A Learning Center space is located immediately adjacent to the public lobby. A generous expanse of glass offers guests a glimpse into the art space of Art Park. A large event space on the ground floor anchors the public programs of both institutions and offers satellite space for the Museum. The upper floors provide light-filled and flexible office spaces for the staff.
Flexible space is prominent throughout the whole building. A large event space on the ground floor can host public programs for the Institute and Crystal Bridges while the lobby can transition from an art gallery into a cocktail reception easily and quickly. AV systems support multi-modal configurations and acoustic treatments that mimic natural elements keep active and quiet areas separate.
