If you have a question, Ben likely has an answer – from trivia facts to figuring out how to make a database more efficient. In life, he takes the Mister Roger’s principle of Look for the Helpers and asks: who helps the helpers?
Like many at Threshold, Ben grew up musically inclined, playing piano in elementary school before finding his voice, literally and figuratively, in middle and high school – a passion he carried into his collegiate A Cappella group. A bigger passion turned out to be investigation and research, and he has leaned on that itch throughout his life by helping decision-makers with administrative tasks so they can get back to helping clients.
Digging in his heels to solve problems has lead to a number of certifications. Ben holds the PACE certification from the American Society of Administrative Professionals, the CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute, and the A+ certification from CompTIA.
Outside of his work-related research, he volunteers with Find a Grave and Wikipedia. And outside of all research-related interests, he’s usually herding his two cats, Janet Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, with his partner, Pete. You can find him all over the city exploring the many, many public events Chicago has to offer.
